The Lao Tu Art Studio is led by Professor Li Mingsong. The content of the work is mainly to create life pottery, by hand-jiggering and hand-pinching as the basic creative skills, and the product features are drawn from the natural and human elements around life. Professor Li Mingsong hopes to bring art into life and life artistic. He also hopes that he will devote himself to inherit pottery art, That’s the reason he named his workshop to “Lau-Tu( which means Old style clay)” The studio has been engaged in local specialty products for many years and holds pottery exhibitions from time to time. Dedicated to pottery creation for a long time, he is constantly exploring, looking for the feasibility of combining ceramic art with local life, integrating local culture and characteristics into his works, and achieved the ideal of "artistic life". At present, the second-generation Li Guande takes over the workshop and committed to learn pottery. He also had learned the craftsmanship of metal craft and wood craft from Mr. Chen Yuanfang and combine them with pottery to enrich his works. That helps to create another new character into Law-Tu.
老土藝術工作室是由李明松教授領導,作品內容以創作生活陶器為主,以手拉坏及手工捏塑為基本創作技巧,產品特色取材自生活周遭自然與人文的元素。李明松教授希望老土藝術的精神是可以將藝術生活化、生活藝術化,也期許自己專志傳承陶藝這古「老」悠久的陶「土」藝術,故以此命名。 工作室經營地方特色產品多年,並不定期舉辦陶藝展。長期以來,致力於陶藝創作,也不斷的摸索,尋找陶藝結合在地生活的可行性,將在地文化語彙、特色融入作品中,實現「藝術生活化」的理想。 目前工作室是由二代李冠德接手,致力投入陶藝學習並拜師陳遠芳老師,學習金工與木工的工藝技術,運用多媒材結合讓作品更豐富。開創老土另一片嶄新的天地。
