Xinghua community of Mai¬liao is the biggest Lettuce production area of Taiwan and is called the Hometown of Taiwan Lettuce   Mailiao is located at the end of Hu-Wei Brook and faces the Taiwan Strait.    The living condition is very strict since no fertile soil and facing the strong Northeast monsoon every winter, but it’s perfect for lettuce, which likes dry soil conditions.   Besides Hardworking farmers committed to have good quality of lettuce, that helps to produce Green, Crisp, Sweet lettuce and are favored oversea.     High-quality Taiwan Lettuce is now being exported to Japan, Korea, Singapore and so on, that created over NT$50 million output per year and accounting of more than 50% of Taiwan exports.

位於麥寮鄉興華社區，是台灣最大的美生菜產區，有台灣生菜の故鄉之稱。過去麥寮鄉每到冬天，就會吹起冷冽的東北季風，俗稱風頭水尾的惡劣環境，後因意外發現這樣的氣候土壤與美生菜十分契合，加上農友堅持持續栽種安全且有生產履歷的美生菜，栽種出來的美生菜擁有〝青、脆、甜〞的優勢，而獲得了國外的青睞，至今版圖已經橫跨日本、韓國、新加坡等地，每年光是出口就創造五千多萬產值，佔了全台灣50%以上的出口量。
