Liao Zhaotang, born in 1957 in Lunbei Township, Yunlin County, is now the head of the "Longxing Pavilion Palm Puppet Troupe", who is proficient in Hokkien and Zhao'an Hakka, and is a rare bilingual puppeteer. Influenced by his father since childhood, he has formed an indissoluble bond with puppet play. Because he is good at puppet play, his first appearance at the age of 18 has caused a sensation and attracted a large audience. and his father changed the signboard to the name of Liao Zhaotang to affirm his ability. He adapted the classic drama "The Life of the Five-clawed Golden Eagle", and pioneered the Zhao'an Hakka puppet play, which was widely acclaimed. Since then, he has devoted himself to the inheritance and education of Hakka puppet opera, and has been selected as a performing arts team for many times as an activity instructor. Based on Hakka culture, he integrates local stories into the script, and constantly innovates in teaching demonstrations, so that students can have an in-depth understanding of the history of their hometown and the beauty of Zhao'an Hakka. Liao Zhaotang had the courage to take on the challenge, changed the oral dialogue from Heluo to Zhao'an Hakka, and maintained an on-the-spot response during the performance, making the audience closer to the play. His efforts not only preserved the traditional puppet show, but also allowed the Zhao'an Hakka language to be displayed in the play, which was deeply loved by the audience. 

廖昭堂，1957年生於雲林縣崙背鄉，現為「隆興閣掌中布袋戲團」團長，其精通閩南語和詔安客語，是少見的雙語操偶師。自幼受父親影響，與布袋戲結下不解之緣。因他擅於布袋戲，十八歲初登場已引起轟動，吸引大批觀眾。及父親將招牌改成廖昭堂的名字，肯定其能力。

他改編經典戲碼《五爪金鷹一生傳》，首創詔安客語布袋戲，廣受好評。其後致力於客語布袋戲的傳承和教育，並多次獲選為演藝團隊，擔任活動指導老師。他以客家文化為基礎，將地方故事融入劇本，教學示範中不斷創新，使學生深入了解家鄉歷史和詔安客語的美感。

廖昭堂勇於挑戰，將口白從河洛語轉換為詔安客語，並在演出中維持臨場反應，使觀眾和戲更加親近。他的努力不僅保留了傳統布袋戲，也讓詔安客語在戲劇中得以展現，深受觀眾喜愛。
