When Xiluo great bridge was build, it was the first public road bridge of the Far East, also the second longest bridge in the world. There are pictures on the right wall, recording how this bridge was build and its change, including bridge pier in Japanese period, and that of the bridge piers on the end of the south and the north going to be being connected during the period of construction. One of the most particular pictures is that, you can see, Taiwan Sugar Railway running on the bridge, which forms an incredible phenomenon of both railway and bridge running on the same path. Anyway, following the Taiwan Sugar Organization's decline and its frequent traffic accidents, the railway was removed finally.

Hey~ do you know Xiluo great bridge were actually painted in to different colors three times, when it were just build, it was painted green like the color of the jungle because there were a lot of wars back in the time, after that it was painted gray like the army, all the way to 1985 it was finally painted into bright red and has never change the color since then. Xiluo great bridge has been an important landmark in the middle of Taiwan, it is voted the most beautiful highway on the internet. It has bring up the cultural development both side of Jhuoshuei river, including Agricole products and landscape feature, and has been nourishing the development of Xiluo street.

In addition to reviewing these old pictures, we also hope there are new creative ideas based on the old culture, such as the large circular art work on the right wall, which was made by Zhang Bohao in 2013 during the renovation of the Xiluo Bridge. He used the T-shaped scrap steel bones from Xīluó bridge to create the art named "Wordless Book", with which he tries to appeal people to appreciate of the efforts made by the predecessors of the province to promote the construction of the Xiluo Bridge, expecting to show the innovation and fusion of the bridge's history and modern spirit!
